For Families
Mommy & Me – Daddy & Me Classes
Join other parents of two to five year olds to share experiences and learn about such parenting topics as discipline, reading with your child, nutrition and stress reduction. At the same time, your child has an opportunity to learn skills he or she will need to be ready for school – particularly sharing, counting and independence. Weekly classes take place at local elementary schools. Contact CCRC for specific days and times.
Parents as Teachers Home Visitation Program
Families receive 1-2 home visits per month for a year. During each visit Child Development Specialists facilitate a fun parent-child activity designed to promote brain development and school readiness skills. Child Development Specialists also connect the family to community resources including parenting classes, health insurance and special needs services.
Enrichment Program
Your child is provided free enrollment in a quality family child care program for 25 hours weekly for one full calendar year. In order to be eligible, parents must be on the Los Angeles County Central Eligibility List.
Head Start Extended Day Classes
Head Start Extended Day classes are provided at two Head Start sites and allow 40 children enrollment in a full day Head Start classroom. Parents must qualify for CCRC’s Head Start program to apply.

For Elementary Schools
Parent Workshops
School Liaisons work with parent center directors and community representatives at elementary schools in our service area to provide informative and fun parent workshops, parent & child workshops, and transition to kindergarten activities. Contact CCRC for specific locations, days and times.
Case Management Services
School Liaisons also support families who need access to important services such as health insurance and family counseling. School Liaisons meet with families at the school or in their home and follow up until the family feels support is no longer needed. Families may contact CCRC directly or through a referral from school staff.

For Child Care Professionals
Family Child Care Visitation Program
Family Child Care (FCC) providers receive training and consultation from an Early Childhood Education Specialist through visits to their child care setting to ensure continuous improvement in their quality of child care. FCC providers attend peer support groups and workshops tailored to meet their specific needs. Participating FCC providers also receive two assessments of their child care environment with individualized feedback and planning sessions.
Center Based Training Program
Infant, toddler and preschool center staff enrolled in the SRI program receive workshops based on the center’s needs and interests. Child care center teaching staff also receives two assessments of their classroom with individualized feedback.
